Grand Nain (often called G9 banana ) is a Cavendish subgroup variety widely grown for commercial production. It is planted in spring or early monsoon, flowers in 8–11 months after planting, and is harvested about 12–15 months after planting. Fruits are sweet, firm, and solid green when mature, with medium size and high export value. Plants are 6–8 ft tall, wind-resistant, and highly productive, yielding 225–250 fruits per plant.
